I am delighted that Steven Cooper has joined the bank as chief executive officer.
Steven was previously at Barclays Bank and has a wealth of experience gained from three decades as a banker both in the UK and overseas. In his most recent senior roles, he was chief executive officer of Barclays Personal Banking UK and Europe and chief executive officer of Barclaycard Business. During his time at Barclays, he worked in a wide range of areas, including retail and business banking, payments, data, digital and fintech.
Steven sits on a number of advisory boards, including being a commissioner for the social mobility commission. Steven is a NED at Robert Walters PLC and the FSCS and is an Alumnus of Harvard Business School.
Steven replaces David Green who has led the bank as chief executive and managing director since 2016. The experience, knowledge and counsel David has contributed have been invaluable.
