We observe all the relevant legal and regulatory requirements and employ appropriate security measures to protect your personal information and to ensure it cannot be accessed by unauthorised persons.

We use information supplied by you to confirm your identity, to maintain your accounts, for general statistical analysis and to advise you about other services we provide.  If you do not want to receive details of our other services, you can instruct us not to contact you.

Under the terms of The Data Protection Act 1998 you are also entitled to a copy of your personal records held in our computer files and certain other relevant files.  Please contact the Data Protection Officer at the Bank if you wish to see a copy.  We will correct any inaccuracies you point out to us.


We observe a strict duty of confidentiality.  We will not disclose information about you or your account to a third party except under compulsion of law or regulation, with your consent or where it is necessary for the operation of your account.  From time to time, we may need to transfer certain personal information outside The European Economic Area, e.g. when you withdraw cash from an ATM abroad.

To carry out your instructions, to assist us in improving our services and in the interests of security and fraud prevention, we record all telephone calls and monitor all e-mails.
