Original beer bottles from Hoare & Co Brewery, 19th century

Members of the Hoare family held a controlling share in the Red Lion Brewery for five generations.  The company was particularly known for its stouts and sparkling ales.

The Red Lion was one of London's oldest established breweries, situated by the Thames at Lower East Smithfield.
